Dr. Kasia Hering, DVM

Dr. Kasia Hering holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a focus on Resource Conservation from McGill University. It was during her volunteer work at the Toronto Wildlife Center that she developed a deep interest in veterinary medicine, ultimately leading her to pursue this path professionally. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2003.

Originally from Montreal, Dr. Hering has lived in various places throughout her life, including the Cayman Islands and Austria. Fluent in English, French, and German, she also speaks Spanish. However, she humorously admits it isn't as fluent as one might expect, especially considering her marriage to her Spanish-speaking husband.

Dr. Hering and her husband have two college-aged daughters and share their home with two tuxedo cats. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, particularly those involving water—sailing, kayaking, paddleboarding —and plans to take up kite surfing. A recent enthusiast of dragon boating, she looks forward to joining a new team as she relocates to Florida, where she will be able to enjoy these activities year-round.

In addition to her love for the outdoors, Dr. Hering is a passionate fan of musical theater and live music. A fun and obscure fact about her is that, in her younger years, she played the accordion in a Montreal ska band called Me, Mom & Morgentaler. The band reunited virtually in 2020 to record again for a benefit concert during the COVID-19 pandemic.
